A poem for Maureen by Jill Sorrell

Created by Abigail and Caroline 8 years ago
Petite but fearing no-one, a friend to one and all
She seemed to leave so suddenly with few 'goodbyes' at all
Now she's 'somewhere over the rainbow' dancing in her red Dorothy shoes
She's singing all our favourite songs from musicals, shows and Blues

I know she's up there baking her cakes and sausage rolls
To make us all feel welcome with (flowers and) candles lit in bowls
She remembered all our birthdays, she'd always write a card
She booked our many concerts, no one else could work so hard

She sent us all a message in a sudden shower of stars
To remind us lest we should forget How great is God Almighty
And will be mightier yet
